Experience the impossible Museum of Illusions® New York

This place is cool! We went as a family (5 and 10 year old boys) and they loved it! We went later on in the day on a rainy Thursday and it was perfect!
1. I liked how we didn't have to reserve a spot like every other museum in NY. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision and I'm glad it worked out.
2. I like that it's OK for kids but it's not like a kids place, if that makes sense. Adult or kid, we all loved different things about the experience.
3. Each area is interactive and I like how it had signs informing you about what you were seeing and how your brain works.
4. The people who worked there were friendly.
Definitely a cool stop while in NY.

We visited the Museum of Illusions during the holidays and had such a fun time. It was a great mix of interactive exhibits, visual tricks, and brain teasers that kept us entertained the whole way through. Every room had something cool to look at or try out, and it was a really fun spot for taking creative photos.

The staff was friendly and helpful, always offering to take pictures or explain how certain illusions worked. It made the experience feel more personal and engaging. Some of the exhibits really messed with our sense of perspective in the best way.

This museum is perfect for all ages and a great activity if you’re looking for something unique and memorable to do in the city. It is not a huge space, but there’s a lot packed in and we never felt rushed. Whether you’re into puzzles, photography, or just want to do something out of the ordinary, it is definitely worth checking out.

This was a super fun museum with a lot of photo opportunities. As other reviewers have stated, there is a big chunk of these that are more simple illusions you've probably seen in a book or on the Internet. With that being said, they were still fun to see in the museum, and the majority of the illusions were things you could directly interact with, unlike books or the Internet. It was a lot of fun. It seemed a little crowded despite times entry. The people in front of us were super slow so much that we and about three other groups had to pause for a good five or ten minutes between every exhibit. That's not the fault of the museum itself. It was just frustrating. The staff is very nice and I noticed they were eager to help anyone who couldn't understand how to make the illusion work and they offered very good explanations and tips for good photos. I would guess children especially would have fun here.
